At Intake we actively encourage good attendance throughout all years.
Children achieve more if they have good school attendance.
Adding it All Up:
There are:
190 days in a school year:
190 days spent in school (0 days absence) = 100% attendance
183 days spent in school (7 days absence) = 96% attendance
171 days spent in school (19 days absence) = 90% attendance
161 days spent in school (29 days absence) = 85% attendance
152 days spent in school (38 days absence) = 80% attendance
143 days spent in school (47 days absence) = 75% attendance
If your child’s attendance becomes a concern school will contact you and try to support you, if their attendance continues to be an issue the Local Authority Education Welfare Officer may become involved. If attendance drops below 90% it becomes known as Persistent Absenteeism and can result, in extreme cases, in an Education Penalty Notice being issued.
If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance at school, please speak to our Attendance Lead Mrs A Wilson
