Having spent all of my working life in education as a teacher, Headteacher, Education
Adviser and inspector, on reaching retirement age I wanted to keep my involvement with, and enthusiasm for, primary education. I was delighted to be invited to become Chair of Governors at Intake Primary School where it is my privilege to work with excellent governor and school senior staff colleagues to provide the best education we can for our pupils – ambitious, high quality and with every individual child having access to opportunities to achieve the highest they can.
Responsibilities: Safeguarding, Foundation Stage/ Early Years, Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Pupil Premium

I’m an economist working on business development projects worldwide.
I have a passion for improving children’s development in my neighbourhood where my wife and I are raising our three wonderful children.
I volunteered to join Intake Primary School’s Governing Body in November 2014 as a Parent Governor as I was genuinely interested in helping the school achieve improved quality and delivery in education, surpassing previous accreditation levels for the benefit of our pupils and the entire Intake community.
Quality education of children at the early stages is a great social responsibility helping them with their first independent steps into lifelong learning, therefore it is an honour for me to play my part at Intake Primary, the school that is so close to my heart.
As a member of the Governing Body, I am very proud to work with such professional teachers and school leaders working hard as a team to reach and even exceed the set ambitious development goals towards excellence.

Sarah Allard, BEd Hons
As a parent of two children, with a background in Childcare and Primary Education I have always had a commitment to education and child development in its widest forms. I have many years of experience working with children and their families in paid employment and in the voluntary sector, locally and nationally. Over the years I have moved from classroom teaching and senior management to more pastoral roles in schools and am currently working as the Parent Support Advisor at Intake Primary School. This is a wide and varied role which brings me into direct contact with children, their families and teachers ona daily basis. It is a position of privilege and trust which I thoroughly enjoy and seek to do my very best in at all times.
I have always been involved in school governance, so when I was approached to become an Associate Governor, I was thrilled to be able to be able to say yes. Our children are our future and every child in every family deserves the very best start in life we can give them. I am pleased to be able to play a part in our children’s lives at the beginning of their journey and to be able to support the parents, staff and senior management of the school in playing their part too.

I am a mum to four children.
I joined the governors to get an insight into the way the school works and also to help make decisions for the good of the school.
I work part-time as a Support Worker.
Mr Graham Simpson

I have been a governor of Intake Primary School since March 2016, and have had a long interest in the school. My children attended during the 1970’s and 80’s, my wife worked as a
Nursery Nurse in reception for many years until retirement, and now my son is Deputy Head Teacher.
My working background was within manufacturing industries having taken the opportunities to move from the shop floor in various stages up to production manager, project manager, finishing my working life responsible for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental matters.
I hope to use this experience to support the governors and senior management of the school in developing staff and enabling pupils with their learning experience. It is essential that everyone involved in the life of the school can reach their full potential and feel valued and
supported during their time at Intake Primary. I will do what I can to enable the school to continue putting its Vision, Values and Aims into practice through ‘Dream it, Believe it and Achieve it’.
